Asheville-Area Birth Doula Support for Every Body ♡

What’s a Doula?

A doula is a professional companion who supports people through reproductive health-related experiences. Doulas offer clients non-medical physical, informational, emotional, and family support, as well as access to additional birth-related resources and referrals. Doulas also act as patient advocates with medical and healthcare providers both in and outside of the birth space.

Are you looking for compassionate pregnancy & birth support?

From navigating local Asheville prenatal care and birth place options, learning techniques on how to effectively advocate for yourself both during pregnancy and in the birth space, what to expect during labor and birth, to the day to day of helping to answer the questions that keep you up at night, your doula is in your corner and rooting for you every step of the way!

Wondering where you can turn to for evidence-based pregnancy and birth information?

From the day we start working together, you’ll have unlimited virtual access for asking questions, sharing thoughts and feelings about your pregnancy or birth, or hopping on a quick phone call to debrief after your prenatal appointments! Say goodbye to the “Google rabbit hole” and hello to streamlined, evidence-based answers to your questions! Your birth doula is available and right in your pocket. :)

Thinking about where you can find trusted local resources and referrals?

It’s a doula’s job to be plugged into Asheville-area resources for families! From OBGYN providers, to birth centers, hospitals, pediatricians, chiropractors, acupuncturists, lactation support, pelvic floor physical therapists, therapists, yoga classes, parent meet ups, and more! We have listened to other local families experiences and we have also built our own relationships with various providers, we want you and your family to be in not just good, but *great* hands!

I model my doula support in following the definition of Reproductive Justice: “The human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children we have in safe and sustainable communities.”

What Doula Clients Are Saying…

“Paulina was a natural match for my family and I. When I felt misguided by my doctor and hospital staff, Paulina was there to help navigate and advocate. When I needed comfort, Paulina was there to calm and nurture me. When I needed evidence based information, Paulina was wise and prepared. When I needed to feel empowered, Paulina was a steady partner throughout my pregnancy. “

“They were reliable, caring, genuine and just the calming and energizing energy I needed during my birth. I couldn’t recommend them more and attribute the success of having my second son naturally and unmedicated because of Paulina’s unwavering support. Paulina wasn’t just a support system for me, though, they also helped to support and guide my husband throughout the process.”

“Paulina’s presence was a calming force for both myself and my partner. They also took amazing photos for us without it being distracting. I didn't even know I wanted photos but I will cherish them forever. Paulina stayed with me and comforted me after birth as well as cared for my husband in immediate postpartum! Words do not convey the care and attention we received and so appreciated.”
